Edgar William Klein, 78, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 8, 2018. He was born on August 27, 1939 to Harold and Carrie Mae Klein, and was a lifetime resident of Medina County. After graduating from Medina High School, his skills developed into a working career as varied as his talents. In his earlier years, Ed was an auctioneer, a carpenter, and a hairdresser, eventually owning Renee’s Beauty Salon. In later years, he was employed by Medina County Vocational School, where he taught sign language; Old Phoenix Bank, once awarded ‘Employee of the Year’; and Simmons Brothers Construction as Property Manager, retiring in 2008. His favorite vocation, mostly self-taught, was his photography business, called Through the Lens, photographing nature and wildlife, especially in the American West.
Ed cherished his family and friends, and treated everyone with kindness. His deep love for God and commitment to his faith was evident as he volunteered his time to church, and to helping people.
Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 10 years, Dianne M. Klein; his brother George Klein; step sons, Todd (Brenda) Jones, Alan (Jill) Clark, Wayne (Penny) Clark; and step daughters, Jennifer (Christopher) Harley and Janet (Bill) Riedthaler; step grandchildren Taylor and Joshua Jones, Zachary Harley, Aaron (Lauren) Clark, Krista (Johnathon) Steedly, Adam Clark, Cassie (Joshua) Newcomer, Valerie Riedthaler, Jennifer (Joe) Williams, as well as many nieces and nephews.
